Rotary Airlock Valve Rebuild vs Replacement
When a rotary airlock valve shows leakage, unstable feeding, jamming or heavy wear, buyers often need to decide whether to rebuild the existing unit or replace it with a new valve. The right choice depends on the valve condition, process requirement and long-term maintenance cost.
Rebuild may be suitable when:
- The housing is still structurally sound
- The rotor can be repaired or replaced
- Shaft seals, bearings or drive parts are the main issue
- The valve still matches the required capacity and pressure condition
- The process material has not changed significantly
Replacement may be better when:
- The housing or side plates are severely worn
- Air leakage remains high after maintenance
- The valve size no longer matches the required capacity
- The process has changed to a different material or temperature
- The existing valve design is not suitable for current pneumatic conveying conditions

Why process data matters
