Rotary Airlock Valve Installation and Use
Correct installation is important for reliable operation of rotary airlock valves and rotary feeders. Before putting the valve into service, check the equipment condition, mounting surface, rotor movement and motor direction carefully.
Mounting Checks
- Check whether the rotary valve is damaged or rusted after transportation or storage. The impeller should rotate flexibly.
- The mounting surface connected with the rotary airlock valve should be flat. Recommended flatness is not more than 0.5 mm to avoid casing deformation.
- Check the clearance between the blade and the housing, and between the blade and the end cap. The reference clearance is 0.10-0.25 mm.
- After installation, correct the level, tighten the fixing bolts evenly and confirm the impeller rotates without obstruction.
Pre-Drive Preparation
- Add lubricating oil or grease to the parts that require lubrication.
- Connect the power supply according to the motor wiring requirements and install motor overload protection.
- Confirm the rotary valve runs in the correct direction.
- Run the equipment empty for about 1 hour. It should operate normally without abnormal noise or blockage before loading material.
Using Tips
During operation, keep material feeding stable and avoid hard foreign objects entering the valve. For pneumatic conveying systems, confirm the pressure difference and conveying air volume match the selected valve specification.
